Investing in Lendonwood's Future

The future of Lendonwood Gardens depends on the support of donors who value the role of a unique botanical garden as a resource for the community and education. A non-profit corporation, Lendonwood is maintained through private gifts and volunteer labor.

In the next few years, private support will play an even more significant role as the Gardens expands in size and plantings. Lendonwood Gardens, Inc., has purchased five acres of adjacent land and property, the former home of Lendonwood designer and benefactor Dr. Leonard Miller. The property will provide needed space for expanding educational programs for children and adults, as well as a place for community events of all types. The additional five acres will resolve some parking and visibility issues, while allowing room for significantly expanded garden space.

"We hope all members of the community will participate fully in the future of Lendonwood Gardens," said Cindy Reynolds, President of the Lendonwood Board of Directors. "In order for Lendonwood to flourish as a resource for the area, the community must be engaged with the Gardens."

“Lendonwood truly has become a gem in the Grand Lake area, attracting thousands of visitors each year. Those visits have a very positive economic impact on the entire area."

INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Lendonwood offers a number of opportunities for investment in its future, including:

1. Endowment Fund: Contributions to the endowment fund help assure the long-term success of Lendonwood. Interest from the principal is used for continued support of the Gardens.

2. Lendonwood Expansion Project: Gifts to the expansion project are used to help fund the recent purchase of adjacent property, more than doubling the size of the Gardens.

3. A Gift of Nature: Gifts in memory or honor of individuals may be designated either for endowment or expansion funds.

4. Stocks, trusts, and bequests: The Lendonwood Board of Directors is happy to work with individuals interested in supporting the Gardens through stocks, trusts, bequests and other gifts.
